John McDonald
John McDonald, Nursery Industry National Biosecurity Manager, has 20 years’ experience in nursery production including overseeing the Queensland industry development program and in 2016 moving to the national body to manage the national portfolios of biosecurity and pesticide minor use. With tertiary qualifications in Plant Protection, Biosecurity, Horticulture, Nursery Production and Irrigation he has dedicated more than 28 years’ to production horticulture. John has spent the past 8 years developing BioSecure HACCP as an on-farm guide to assist growers implement an integrated crop management system as well as having negotiated national recognition and acceptance for BioSecure HACCP as a legal market access program for domestic plant movement across Australia.
