Rebecca McDougal Science Protecting Plant Health 2017

Rebecca McDougal

I am Molecular Forest Pathologist at Scion in Rotorua, New Zealand. I use molecular techniques to diagnose plant disease and characterize plant pathogens, mostly in forest species and for biosecurity-based projects. Area of current research interest include forest diseases, caused by Phytophthora, Dothistroma and Cyclaneusma species, using PCR-based methods, genomics, transcriptomics and microbial ecology.
