Heleen Kruger
Heleen is a social scientist at the Australian Bureau for Agricultural Resource Economics and Sciences (ABARES). She has been investigating the social and institutional aspects of biosecurity for almost ten years as ABARES researcher and as a Plant Biosecurity CRC PhD student. This includes projects on community engagement about biosecurity, the social impacts of emergency animal disease outbreaks, area-wide management and agricultural innovation systems. Before that Heleen managed the on-farm quality assurance program for the Australian pork industry, which included food safety, animal welfare and biosecurity components.
