Kim M Plummer
Kim Plummer leads a molecular plant pathology group, AgriBio, La Trobe University. Her group’s focus is on molecules governing host/non-host interactions with microbial parasites, identifying fungal effector molecules involved in infection and resistance, for use in designing durable disease resistance. She has a broader interest in the basis of parasitism and the molecules that parasites deploy to infect their host. Her skill also includes genomic, transcriptomic and proteome comparative analyses, to understand the mechanisms that govern pathogenesis and resistance. She teaches into plant molecular biology, plant diversity and pathology (undergraduate and postgraduate level). Current President of Australasian Plant Pathology Society.
