Kathy Braithwaite

Kathy Braithwaite has worked for the sugar industry for over 20 years in the area of molecular pathology. She has worked on a wide range of sugarcane diseases including smut, orange rust, sugarcane bacilliform virus, ratoon stunting disease, Ramu stunt and chlorotic streak. She also works with the entomology group, in the areas of DNA barcoding to identify exotic insects in the event of an insect incursion and understanding insect vectors of viral diseases.
