Candace E Elliott Science Protecting Plant Health 2017

Candace E Elliott

I am a postdoctoral research fellow in the Mycology Group in the School of BioSciences at the University of Melbourne studying the molecular basis of Blackleg disease of canola. I have two broad areas of study. I am interested in discovering the mechanisms by which Leptosphaeria maculans evades detection by the canola plants during early infection and I am also trying to unravel the complicated array of secondary metabolites made by this innovative pathogen of canola. I am currently the regional councillor for the APPS for the state of Victoria.
