Sharyn Taylor

Dr Sharyn Taylor has over 25 years experience in plant pathology, biosecurity and research management through roles held at the South Australian Research and Development Institute (SARDI), the CRC for Plant Biosecurity, the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) and Plant Health Australia (PHA). While working full-time at SARDI, she gained a PhD in nematology, evaluating the impact of root lesion nematodes in south-eastern Australia and have several peer reviewed publications in this field. At PHA, Dr Taylor has gained significant experience working with government and plant industries in the development of industry biosecurity plans, industry biosecurity and surveillance programs, biosecurity manuals, surveillance strategies and pest contingency plans. She coordinates the Grains Farm Biosecurity Program, which has established Grains Biosecurity Officers in five states and seeks to raise awareness and promote adoption of biosecurity best practice amongst the grains industry.
